Mary Katherine Williams

Mary Katherine Williams, Executive Director, has a degree from Elon University, NC, and has worked in various for and non-profit settings as supervisors and managers. She has exhibited strong community service through experience with non-profit organizations working as victim advocate, program coordinator and board president with three groups which provide services to survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Since 1997, Ms. Williams has served as Office Manager with Forests of the World, and has worked part-time as The Forest Foundation’s Executive Director. She currently serves as a member on both the Steering and Wisdom of Women Committees for the Center for Eco-zoic Studies (Chapel Hill, NC). MK also serves as a Steering Committee member for Tourism for Peace (Atlanta, GA).

Marc Dreyfors

Marc Dreyfors, a Duke alumnus, grew up in the suburbs of Washington D.C. and in Coastal N.C., where he saw population growth impact the natural world.  He did his undergraduate study in Environmental Sciences at UNCW, where he studied Philosophy and Religion and pretty much everything else the university offered. As a graduate student, he studied Resource Economics and Policy at Duke’s Nicholas School, and founded Forests of the World. He’s spent more than 20 years working to improve and promote sustainable livelihoods and green living both around the around the world, and around the block. If you ask Marc how to most effectively change the world, he’ll tell you that a big picture vision requires a very local impact.
