Our event planning is state of the art. In partnership with experienced event planner Laura Griest, we can make any event greener, often lowering costs.
We will work with you through any or all phases of an event, in a
collaborative, sharing and informative way.
Green Wedding Services offers a range of options for
the conscientious bride and groom. Green Passing Services promotes a
more ecologically sensitive way of taking care of our loved ones.
We bill on a sliding scale based on
ability to pay, and can quote hourly or package rates. Proceeds also benefit the Foundation’s mission and Green Business programs.
Green events also go well with Carolina Biodiesel’s Green Transportation Services.
A “green” wedding (no matter what color you wear) can help launch a
marriage toward a sustainable life in a loving relationship.
Our staff and contractors can deliver a full-service package of
goods and services that are sustainable, healthful, organic and
nurturing.
We focus on each component of wedding planning and implementation,
including:
- wedding invitations on 100% post consumer recycled,
chlorine free or hand made, fair trade paper; - fair trade bridesmaid and dinner gifts;
- certified organic and sustainable reception food;
- carbon offsetting/mitigation of energy consumption related
to guest travel and events; - Biodiesel rental cars, EcoBus, and limousine services in the
North Carolina Triangle area for friends and family; - itineraries and outfitters for beautiful and fun honeymoon ecotours.
Costs can be competitive with or even less than most
wedding service providers.

We offer a range of alternatives to make the process of passing more
environmentally and socially conscientious, reducing excessive costs
and redefining the way we die and care for our loved ones here and
now and for future generations.
Our staff and contractors can focus on each aspect of funeral
planning, burial, and service/ceremony, including:
- education on your rights as a care giver;
- hosting your own funeral service;
- managing the loved one’s body;
- identifying and contracting suppliers of ecologically friendly burial
materials, wraps, and coffins; - finding or creating ecological cemeteries*;
- if desired, carbon offsetting/mitigation of energy consumption of
friends and family travel and the event itself.
*Ecological cemeteries work with local land conservation organizations
to allow burial on selected conservation easements, and in doing so
provide needed revenue to help manage and acquire more conservation
land.
If you wish, we can also facilitate web and DVD memorial services
that can capture a loved ones life in near perpetuity.
