In the last several months, TFF has been approached by several companies wanting help in greening their offices and finding capital for investment. This is an exciting prospect and we hope our services will continue to be in demand, and we can find a way to recoup our costs!
Foundation and friends move into new site in East Durham
The Forest Foundation, Forests of the World, Carolina Biodiesel and Greenway Transit moved to its new location, the old, Exxon-Mobil/Standard Oil terminal on Angier and Alston Aves.(about a mile closer to downtown Durham), in March of 2007 and the transition took nearly 2 months
Nicholas School gains new Dean
Duke University has selected atmospheric chemist William L. Chameides, chief scientist for Environmental Defense and Regents’ Professor Emeritus at Georgia Institute of Technology, as the new dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences. Durham’s New “Carbon Catalog”
The Forest Foundation, working with Clean Energy Durham and several other local envrionmental organizations, has a established a Working Group to create one of the first, local Community-based Carbon Mitigation Catalogs.
TFF and FOW distribute Eco-Palms for Palm Sunday
In keeping with The Foundation and Forest of the World’s missions to promote biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, fair trade and environmental education, we have joined with the University of Minnesota’s CINRAM, the North Carolinia Council of Churches and several demnominations to help distribute Eco-palms from the Maya Forest Region of the Yucatan.
