We are a nonprofit organization with two-pronged mission:
- Develop model programs in sustainable business and rural development, using market-based initiatives to create conservation incentives and sustainable, fairly-traded products;
- protect forests by building up communities, and community enterprises, both abroad and at home in North Carolina.
We have several diverse and ambitious programs under our "Green Business" rubric, plus a few educational programs to suit different settings.

New site for articles and news posts
We're happy to announce Community Sustainable Energy (.org), a web site which will feature news and information from several local sustainability organizations, including this one. All our old blog posts have been copied to that site, and all new posts will go there.
Now this web site will be able to focus exclusively on current programs and people of The Forest Foundation.
